An astronaut-in-training has to leave NASA (to save the family farm) but just can't give up on his dream of shooting into space, even if he has to do it all by himself. And that will of course get everyone up in arms, from his wife to his banker to the town gossips to the media and the Department of Homeland Security.

Astronaut Brent is sent to rescue Taylor and gets thrown through a portal and crash lands on the Planet of the Apes, just like Taylor. Taylor has disappeared into the Forbidden Zone, so Brent and Nova try to follow and find him. Brent finds mutated humans in the former New York subway system. He discovers a cult of humans that fear the Apes' latest military movements and finds himself in the middle. Tension mounts to a climactic battle between ape...
